Rest Function I had been following OEN Records for some time now, since it was one of the few labels which had this particular vibe that really speaks to me. The compilations are excellent and really bring together a solid sound from a great variety of artists. Then I heard Italo Island, from the newcomer Fruit. I was hooked and could hardly wait to get the album so I could listen to the whole thing attentively. I was not disappointed, it goes easily on the top of the list of my favorite albums this year. Cried while listening to Bedroom Romance on repeat. Favorite track: Bedroom Romance.

Jayson Wynters Man this record is seriously off the chain... all tracks have so much atmosphere emotion and depth. I’m just on my way to work as I’m writing this and I’m only just halfway through the release. For my own personal and selfish reasons I really wish this was available on Wax as I believe it’s one that wouldn’t leave my bag. Both label and artist certainly have my attention now. Keep up the good work 👊🏾

To mark the 10th ØEN REC. release Fruit debuts with “Island Tape” a striking album of atmospheric and cinematic soundscapes. Originally from Iceland, but based in Denmark Fruit has been making waves in the Copenhagen club scene with his eloquent DJ and live-sets. On “Island Tape” Fruit presents a more personal and introspective side to his distinctive production skills.

Cultivating soundscapes and narratives that are melancholic yet uplifting, the album is a highly intimate and emotional journey. Across the album’s seven tracks Fruit showcases his unique sound, navigating between ambient soundscapes, percussive melodic house and haunting atmospheres. Skilfully crafted and executed, we are incredibly pleased to share this one with you as our tenth release.
